It was first in the morning but a last minute call for me and my friend Velibor. Boč, also called the Triglav of Slovene Styria (after Triglav, the highest mountain of Slovenia), is a 978-metre-high mountain in eastern Slovenia. It belongs to the municipalities of Poljčane (the peak) and Rogaška Slatina(southern slope). Boč has two peaks, which are five minutes apart. At one peak, there are transmitters (restricted military area). In the other, a 20-metre lookout tower has stood since 1962. The mountain, covered with forest and protected as a natural park, has a number of trails that vary in difficulty level. We started our walk in Poljčane, made a stop at hut, jumped on windy tower and descended under transmitters back to valley. On our way back we also stopped to say hi to Rok Tomić, outstanding dj and producer in Rogašška Slatina where we filled empty bottles with pure natural mineral water rich in magnesium (branded as Donat Mg) at one of the wells located near city. It was a great start of this years adventures. 🙂
